The UN WorldWide Campaign on Climate Change

Seal The Deal

Dance Concert Unites Campaign Supporters

Copenhagen, 7 December 2009 - Dance 4 Climate Change concert wowed the crowds in Copenhagen at the end of the first day of the UN Climate Change meeting which kicked off on Monday.

Held in support of the UN led campaign Seal the Deal! to encourage a fair deal in Copenhagen, the concert kicked off with Joey Tempest, lead singer from the band Europe being handed the People's Orb to safeguard overnight.

The People's Orb, a shiny, silver sphere filled with messages from people all around the world, as well as key climate change reports, has travelled from Sydney to Brussels and is being passed to high profile figures and appearing at various events in Copenhagen over the course of the next two weeks.

Angelique Kidjo and fellow UN Goodwill Ambassadors Cheb Khaled, Youssou N'Dour and Indonesian singer-songwriter Anggun were among the performers, alongside Shaggy, Europe and Danish acts, The Dreams, Rasmus Seebach, Nabiha, Danseorkestret and Brinck.

Austrian group My Excellence also performed the official campaign song 'Come on, Seal the Deal!'

The concert will soon be seen by TV audiences around the world, helping to spread the Seal the Deal! message internationally.

The concert was timed on the first day of COP 15 to send a clear message to world leaders that it's now time to agree on a fair and scientifically rigorous climate change agreement in Copenhagen.

The concert was a non-profit charity event to support Water for life projects all over the world. For more information visit http://waterforlifeconcerts.com
