Seal the Deal! during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting
Port of Spain 29 November. Climate change was the dominating issue during the twenty first Meeting
of the Commonwealth Heads of Government (CHOGM) in Port of Spain, Trinidad and
Tobago, from 27-29 November. During the
meeting, which was also attended by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Seal the Deal!’s campaign partner Caribe
Liaisons was on the spot to encourage people to join the campaign.
Around the CHOGM, five displays were held; two at Long Circular Mall, St James, and two at Trinidad & Tobago Hospitality and Tourism Institute, Chaguaramas. The Seal the Deal! Campaign was also prominent at the Peoples’ Space, Spoken Word Pavilion, where it shared the forum on climate change with two other groups.
With over 600 collected signatures the event was successful and showed again that people all over the world care and are ready to combat climate change.
