International Volunteer Day in Nepal

December. As part of the
International Volunteers Day, many youth organisations in Nepal organised
a sit-in programme in Central Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital. They called on the
Nepalese to "Seal the Deal!"
at the Copenhagen
summit to fight climate change. Many of the estimated 500 participants, and as
well as people who passed by, signed the Seal
the Deal! Climate Petition.
The event was supported by current and former UN Volunteers, who pointed at various speeches the active role of volunteers in combating climate change.
