Hope and Action for Copenhagen
Vancouver 11 December. A
Canadian youth campaign, initiated by 17-year old Brooke Atkinson, is
encouraging hundreds of high school and elementary students to write to Canada’s
Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, urging him to Seal the Deal!. Brooke’s campaign, called “hope and Action for Copenhagen, was involved in a videoconference at a Climate
Change Conference at Widermere High School in Vancouver.
Linked up with the Canadian youth delegation in Copenhagen the participants called on the
leaders of the world to take the responsibility for taking action on climate
change to protect future generations.
Beside the videoconference, workshops took place and a keynote was given by Dr Andrew Waever, author on the IPCC climate assessment in February 2007.
